I like to think that my paper art career began in second grade, with gum wrapper bracelets and "cootie catchers." In reality, I came to it after a first career as a digital producer and project manager, always envious of the creatives with whom I worked.

Originally from the DC suburbs, I'm a recent transplant to Phoenix (by way of the Bay Area). Five years ago, I stumbled upon modular origami and began folding obsessively. After a course in paper engineering, I was hooked. Since then, I have experimented with pop-ups, kirigami, and tons of pleated folds. I have also dabbled in book arts, searching for ways to incorporate folded forms.

I love the idea that paper, a 2-dimensional plane, can turn into a "thing" -- often a working, moving thing. I'm fascinated with its sculptural properties and the ways that paper can communicate, conceal, expose, and surprise. I'm mesmerized by patterns, but also interested in interruptions to those patterns. I'm constantly hungry for tools for further exploration.
